The Seven Chakras Collection

This collection is in memory of my mother

The main focus of the artworks in this collection is the chakra philosophy, and thus the works can be seen as illustrating the cartography of inner peace. The idea of powerful centers of harmony and physiological betterment in the body stems from an ancient Hindu tradition. It is a testament to the validity of this philosophy that today, thousands of years later, the chakra practice is an established method for self-healing and inner knowledge. Mika Sav interprets THE SEVEN CHAKRAS as an image of a woman. Seven ladies for the seven points of the body. These female portraits are sensual and mysterious, charged with the vibration of each chakra. The vibration itself is represented by a color. Traditionally, each of the main chakras is associated with a vivid color, and the seven together form the rainbow spectrum. After all, the world around is pure energy, living matter with different intensities and frequencies. The most direct demonstration of these oscillations are these different colors.

The artist created this series after an emotional personal loss. Provoked by mourning, Mika used her suffering for the creation of those artworks. But instead of painting her sorrows, she has created images of feminine power and inner realization. The series represents a tragic moment in time and transforms the depressing symbol of loss into something extravagant and celebratory. Welcome to the Seven Chakras.

THE SEVEN CHAKRAS is not just an art project, but also therapy. Take advantage of this: let yourself into the rainbow, let it surround you. And when you feel a connection with a specific artwork, raise your head towards the painted lady, look into her eyes! She will whisper the rest to you. Each chakra has its sign and you can find on the bottom left or right corner of each canvas part of the collection.

Each painting is symbolizing one of all 7 chakras or energetic centers in our body.
